Company Overview
Marsa is the largest fats and oil manufacturer in Turkey. Company was formed in 1922. Products are being exported since 1969. In 2010 products were shipped to 47 countries with a net export sales value of 80 million USD. Yearly production capacity includes 200.000 tons of margarine, 100.000 tons of liquid oil, 80.000 tons of pasta, 27.500 tons of flour, 3.600 tons of powder soup and desserts and 2.040 tons of semolina.
Marsa was acquired by Sabanci group in 1945. American Kraft foods acquired half of the company in 1993 and sold their shares back to Sabanci group in 2002. Yildiz Holding (Ulker group) acquired 100 % of the company in 2008. Yildiz Holding is one of the largest food groups in the world with 53 factories worldwide, 29.000 employees and 2,18 billion USD yearly sales.
